Good Saturday Morning! Help me here?
1. Question – Can anyone out there help me see a
little better?
2. Thought – I watched, I guess it was, “The
Debate.” I watched both sessions on Thursday. I
thought the first one was more civil. I remember my wife
telling me during the last presidential debates, “I
certainly hope the republicans don’t eat their own
and the mediators act civil.” Is that what you saw
Thursday? Help me here? I guess one can say,
Thursday’s ‘debate’ was better than
Kathy Crowley’s one-sided mediation with Romney and
President Obama.
It was weird. The beginning especially:
“Aren’t you nervous, we are?”
“Look at them all standing up there.” Weird. I
was thinking, these men and women are smart people, with a
goal to become The President of the United States.
That’s a huge incomprehensible task for me. It takes
loyalty, money, smarts, trust, education, timing, values
and sacrifice many of us care not to give. Is this
about TV & entertainment and simply another
‘Reality Show?’ Is this about the ratings and
Fox and Facebook and money?
You remember the big deal the media made about Marko Rubio
drinking water because he got dry-mouthed a few years ago
during a debate? (Did you see any candidates drinking
water with God only knows how many cameras on these
leaders?) I wonder how thirsty you would be if the world
was glued to every word you might say? What non-sense.
Like I said, ‘Help me here folks?’ Has our
Presidency gotten to be like a ‘performance arts
somehow?’ I am lost, help me see clearer please?
We have huge national and global problems and my America
has always led. We got lots wrong in 239 years. But, whoa,
we got so much more right. I am proud of America and still
am. We went from Kitty Hawk to the moon in 66 years for
crying-out-loud! The world just seems to be just
out-of-whack. I want a better place for my kids! I have
lost some trust and want to trust again. Help me here?
I thought and thought. Fox leans right. Not left. I
thought, ‘Maybe they’re setting the stage to
do more debates to include the other party as well.
Perhaps they want it to be known that difficult and
historical and personal questions will be asked? That
no-one is exempt. If Mr. Trump called someone a bad name,
and you accused him of it, was it fair not to ask the same
of others? I’m glad I wasn’t on that stage.
When they asked Dr. Carson about some things he said about
foreign policy and the fed chairman that seemed to be
wrong, I thought, I’m glad I wasn’t up there
for something I said wrong in the past. I can only think
of One Human who didn’t say anything wrong in His
past.
I remember being in a conference room with General Blum
and we were to do multiple readings before the conference.
He asked us if we all read the required work. We all
nodded affirmative. (and I said ot-oh to myself!) And then
he launched into several of my contemporaries with
in-depth questions on the readings. I remember thinking
(and praying) to myself, ‘Please don’t call on
me next.’ I wonder how many of those Presidential
candidates I so admire were thinking the same. I wonder if
the mediators thought about asking those questions to
themselves? But then again, the cop-out is,
‘I’m not running for The Presidency, they
are!’ Help me here?
And then I thought more while working out which I need to
keep me sane. Are democrats simply pacifists about war?
Carter, Clinton, Obama want us out of wars. So do
republicans and tea-party folks. If you look back on the
presidencies, I think you will come to the conclusion that
people who desire America’s destruction are around
the corner all the time. Usually during a democratic
president’s helm, we don’t go to war. Think
about it…..And, as the pendulum swings, a republican
president gets in there and BAM! 9/11 happens. Or maybe,
ISIS gets so powerful we have to put boots on the ground.
Or, Iran does what it says it’s going to do.
BAM! Help me here?
Help me here? President Bush turned over a fiscal mess to
President Obama. (I know longer understand our Congress
and their regulatory functions, but Presidents are the
fall-guys.) I observed President Obama and came to the
conclusion his fiscal policies were simply Keynesian. I
then understood him better after reading his books.
President Obama will be leaving in a year and a half. What
will he leave the next guy? Someone’s gotta fix it.
Help me here?
And one more thing. “How would you destroy ISIS in
90 days?” I am flabbergasted by this question. As a
former military guy I have watched media
ask potential Commander in Chiefs as well as Service
Secretaries these types of questions. This is not for
public dissemination. Tomorrow night, the Steelers
and Vikings play in the first pre-season game. Do you
think Coach Zimmer or Coach Tomlin would give the
slightest indication of their game plan to defeat their
opponent? This is beyond ludicrous – nuts!
“Help me here?” is not a question, but
please understand my quest for help.

I’m a Fox News guy. I’ve read all of
O’Reilly’s wonderful books, some of
Hannitys, and Ann Coulters as well as Savages and more. I
also watch CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, ABC and C-Span. I read
and cruise Drudge and Brietbart. I listen to radio and
Mike Savage and Wilcow Majority. This does not consume me,
but makes me ponder other perspectives. I discuss these
topics with many of you through this email and website and
family and friends. It takes, maybe an hour and a half a
day. Maybe 2 or 3 lately.
All said, Fox needs to do a pride check IMO. I wonder if
we are not missing the target here. Help me here?
Our youth is our future. I am entertaining teaching
again. What do we say to our kids and future leaders?
And: Do other countries do what we do to their potential
leaders?
