Question & Thought for June 17th, 2016!!!

Good Friday Morning!!!
1. Question – What leaders do you trust and follow?
2. Thought – Honestly, I think it has to do with their lack of being emotionally healthy. One of the biggest mistakes people make in the realm of leadership is focusing too much on “what am I to do?” as opposed to “who am I to be?” Yes, I confess that in my 30 years of leadership – practicing it, writing books about it, and teaching the topic – I have fallen into that performance trap. And face it – most boards evaluate their leaders based on performance and results. (Dr. Hans Finzel, Highlands Ranch, Colorado)
“Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.” (Proverbs 13:20)
Humor: To all my friends in Australia….I think I am coming to live with you!

By Jeff Foxworthy:

If plastic water bottles are okay, but plastic bags are banned, — you might live in a nation (state) that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots
WE DO LIVE IN SUCH A DUMB COUNTRY!!

If you can get arrested for hunting or fishing without a license, but not for entering and remaining in the country illegally — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If you MUST show your identification to board an airplane, cash a check, buy liquor, or check out a library book and rent a video, but not to vote for who runs the government — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If the government wants to prevent stable, law-abiding citizens from owning gun magazines that hold more than ten rounds, but gives twenty F-16 fighter jets to the crazy new leaders in Egypt — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If, in the nation’s largest city, you can buy two 16-ounce sodas, but not one 24-ounce soda, because 24-ounces of a sugary drink might make you fat — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If an 80-year-old woman who is confined to a wheelchair or a three-year-old girl can be strip-searched by the TSA at the airport, but a woman in a burka or a hijab is only subject to having her neck and head searched — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If your government believes that the best way to eradicate trillions of dollars of debt is to spend trillions more — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If a seven-year-old boy can be thrown out of school for saying his teacher is “cute” but hosting a sexual exploration or diversity class in grade school is perfectly acceptable — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If hard work and success are met with higher taxes and more government regulation and intrusion while not working is rewarded with Food Stamps, WIC checks, Medicaid benefits, subsidized housing, and free cell phones — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If you pay your mortgage faithfully, denying yourself the newest big-screen TV, while your neighbor buys iPhones, time shares, a wall-sized do-it-all plasma screen TV and new cars, and the government forgives his debt when he defaults on his mortgage — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If being stripped of your Constitutional right to defend yourself makes you more “safe” according to the government — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

THINK BEFORE YOU VOTE IN ALL UPCOMING ELECTIONS. MOST OF THE IDIOTS RUNNING THIS COUNTRY SAY ONE THING AND DO THE OPPOSITE KNOWING THAT THE PEOPLE WHO VOTED THEM IN DO NOT PAY ATTENTION

Question & Thought for May 2nd, 2016!

Hello May Monday! Mother’s Day this coming Sunday!
1. Question – How have you used fear as a discipline in your relationships?
2. Thought – Joshua Wooden was a disciplinarian, but not from a physical point of view. I’d almost rather have taken a whipping than hear him say he was disappointed in something I’d done.
I wanted to please him and not let him down with my behavior. It wasn’t a fear of punishment that motivated me. It was my desire to live up to his model and expectations. Later, as a teacher, I wanted those under my supervision to be motivated in the same way, to strive to be their best because I believed in them rather than from any fear of punishment. (Wooden, Coach John Wooden with Steve Jamison)
“It is the Lord your God you shall fear.” (Moses/ Deuteronomy 6:13)

Question & Thought for March 7th, 2016!!!

Good Monday Morning!!
1. Question – Would you like to be trusted, respected, loved, and followed?
2. Thought – Jesus tried to teach us some of these laws of leadership, most of which we have not made much of an attempt to master. For example, he gave an almost all-powerful law of success by which we may bring about in others almost any response we desire. This law is made up of just 15 words. Some have called it the Golden Rule; others have called it the Law of the Boomerang; others have called it the Law of Retaliation. This law says, “Whatsoever ye would that men should do unto you, do ye so unto them.” If we could only learn to put this one law into effect, it would transform our lives and the world in 30 days.
If you want someone to punch you in the nose, you don’t need to make a formal request or argue or reason with him about it. The quickest and most certain method of getting this response is simply to punch him on the nose. If you want someone to send you a Christmas card, all you need to do is to send him a Christmas card. If you want him to invite you to his house for dinner, you invite him to your house for dinner, and very shortly you will receive an invitation to his house for a little better dinner than he received at your house. If you want someone to like you, all you have to do is like him. If you want him to trust you, trust him. We are all human magnets. Our deeds, our attitudes, and even our thoughts attract in kind. If you frown at someone he scowls back at you. If you want smiles, give smiles. You can know in advance how everybody will react to a given situation. Therefore, a great power is placed in your hands if you choose to use it. Just figure out what you want, and then give accordingly. Everybody gets back with compound interest exactly what he sends. The chickens come home to roost and bring their offspring along. If, therefore, you would like to possess great personal power, if you would like to be trusted, respected, loved and followed, just learn to practice the Law of the Boomerang. (Leadership by Sterling W. Sill)

Question & Thought for February 25th, 2016!

Hi There Thursday!
1. Question – How do you defend your worldview?
2. Thought – The gulf between the two groups of scientists has little to do with conflict between science and religion but everything do to their worldviews. One group espouses naturalism, the other Christian theism. Their conflict is a worldview conflict.
Many teens I talk to about faith say it is the first time an adult has asked them why they believe what they believe. Yet make no mistake: they are learning about God from somewhere. The question is, who are we willing to teach them? (Ravi Zacharias)
“No man knows how bad he is till he has tried very hard to be good.” (C.S. Lewis)
