Thoughts for April Fool’s Day 2016!!!

Welcome April and April Fools Day!

  1. Thought – Mama taught her well!  You’ve got to love this little girl. What a  woman she’ll make.

A teacher asked her class, “What do you want out of life?” A little girl in the back row raised her hand and said, “All I want out of life is four little animals, just like my Mom always says”.

The teacher asked, “Really and what four little animals would that be?”The little girl said, “A mink on my back, a jaguar in the garage, a tiger in the bed and a jackass to pay for all of it.

The teacher got a coughing fit and had to leave the room.

  1. Thought – At a meeting of the college faculty, an angel suddenly appears and tells the head of the philosophy department, “I will grant you whichever of the three blessings you choose: Wisdom, Beauty – or ten million dollars.”

Immediately, the professor chooses Wisdom.

There is a flash of lightening, and the professor appears transformed, but he just sits there, staring down at the table.

One of his colleagues whispers, “Say something.”

The professor says, “I should have taken the money.” (Plato and Platypus Walk into a Barr.. by Thomas Cathcart & Daniel Klein)

  1. Thought – Maybe ten years ago I was at a church presentation and our pastor put the coexist bumper sticker up and it was discussed.  Some liked it, some didn’t like it…but in wrapping up the presentation, the pastor asked for questions.  I asked, “Joe, if you look at all religious symbols on that bumper sticker, and you think about all those different beliefs and their perspectives, in order to ‘coexist’ some one, or many, must change.  Tell me, who is going to change?”  Well, the question was a show stopper as you can imagine.
  2. Thought – MY TRIP TO COSTCO

>>

>> Yesterday I was at my local COSTCO buying a large bag of Purina dog chow

>> for my

>> loyal pet , Biscuit , the Wonder Dog and was in the checkout line when a

>> woman

>> behind me asked if I had a dog.

>>

>> What did she think I had , an elephant? So since I’m retired and have

>> little to

>> do , on impulse I told her that no , I didn’t have a dog , I was starting

>> the

>> Purina Diet again. I added that I probably shouldn’t , because I ended up

>> in the

>> hospital last time , but that I’d lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an

>> intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs

>> in both

>> arms.

>>

>> I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that

>> it works

>> is to load your pants pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or

>> two

>> every time you feel hungry. The food is nutritionally complete so it

>> works well

>> and I was going to try it again. (I have to mention here that practically

>> everyone in line was now enthralled with my story.) Horrified , she asked

>> if I

>> ended up in intensive care because the dog food poisoned me. I told her

>> no , I

>> stepped off a curb to sniff an Irish Setter’s butt and a car hit us both.

>>

>> I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack he was

>> laughing so

>> hard.

>>

>> Costco won’t let me shop there anymore.

>>

My Mom pulled the most outrages April Fool’s Day prank on me I’ve ever heard of. If you ask me personally, I will tell ya when we meet.

Question & Thought for Memorial Day 2015!!!

Good Memorial Day Morning!!!
1. Question – Why did Eddie turn himself in and squeal on Capone and what’s this got to do with Memorial Day?
2. Thought – Artful Eddie lacked nothing.
He was the slickest of the slick lawyers. He was one of the roars of the Roaring Twenties. A crony of Al Capone, he ran the gangster’s dog tracks. He mastered the simple technique of fixing the race by overfeeding seven dogs and betting on the eighth.
Wealth. Status. Style. Artful Eddie lacked nothing.
Then why did he turn himself in? Why did he offer to squeal on Capone? What was his motive? Didn’t Eddie know the sure-fire consequences of ratting on the mob?
He knew, but he’d made up his mind.
What did he have to gain? What could society give him that he didn’t have? He had money, power, prestige. What was the hitch?
Eddie revealed his hitch. His son. Eddie had spent his life with the despicable. He had smelled the stench of the underground long enough. For his son, he wanted more. He wanted to give his son a name. And to give his son a name, he would have to clear his own. Eddie was willing to take a risk so that his son could have a clean slate. Artful Eddie never saw his dream come true. After Eddie squealed, the mob remembered. Two shotgun blasts silenced him forever.
Was it worth it?
For the son it was. Artful Eddie’s boy lived up to the sacrifice. His is one of the best-known names in the world.
Before we talk about the son, let’s talk about the principle: risky love. Love that takes a chance. Love that goes out on a limb. Love that makes a statement and leaves a legacy. Sacrificial love……….
Which brings us back to Artful Eddie, the Chicago mobster who squealed on Al Capone so his son could have a fair chance. Had Eddie lived to see his son, Butch, grow up, he would of been proud.
He would of been proud of Butch’s appointment to Annapolis. He would of been proud of the commissioning as a WWII Navy pilot. He would of been proud as he read of his son downing five bombers in the Pacific night and saving the lives of hundreds of crewmen on the carrier Lexington. The name was cleared. The Congressional Medal of Honor that Butch received was proof.
When people say the name O’Hare in Chicago, they don’t think gangsters – they think aviation heroism. And now when you say his name, you have something else to think about. Think about the undying dividends of risky love. Think about the next time you hear it. Think about the next time you fly into the airport named after the son of a gangster gone good.
The son of Eddie O’Hare. (And the Angels were Silent by Max Lucado)

Question – Thought & ANDs for April 11th, 2015!!!

Good Saturday Morning!

1. Question – How do we convince down-trodden Americans that they are oppressed?

2. Thought – “It’s becoming increasingly difficult to reach the down-trodden masses in America,” a Comrade wrote to his superior. “In the spring they’re forever polishing their cars. In the summer they take vacations. In the fall they go to the world series and football games. And in the winter you can’t get them away from their television sets. Please tell me how to let them know they are oppressed.” (1000 Tips & Quips by Herbert V. Prochnow)

AND: Well said by Thomas Sowell.  I’ve recently started paying attention to his posts and think he has the true pulse of what is going on right now.

AND: Great reflections – sent this to my parents…

AND:  The bible is rich with both old and new testiment accounts of God blinding eyes and hardening hearts.  It is also a perfect account of what is unfolding in the world.

I have heard many say “as long as we (the United States) remain strong and a friend of Israel, they will remain a state and biblical prophesy cannot come to pass”.  Really…remain strong and a friend of Israel?  What say you now my friends?

I still see and hear open-ended questions being posed as if there is an answer other than biblical truth.  Consider yourself blessed to be among those that will see the Glory of God revealed.  And remember this: Hate is not the opposite of love, fear is.

AND: Trust is earned, not given.  Whereas, Winston Churchill was well received in the US, if we don’t listen to the wisdom of the person…….we lose what he/she brings to the table.

And, you can’t “unring” a bell!

AND: Harsh realities are difficult to face texting is quite easy, watching TV even simpler. We refuse to face the world as long as the government says we are safe. From where has this dependence come. It has come through empty libraries it has come from hands being outstretched to DC, it has come by the vilification of Christianity it has come because we have allowed it and elected it.  There will be an awaking but evil is upon us now and evil kills us in our sleep.  It is all very frustrating the world coming apart while some golf and vacation, the answer is to fight. Fight the presumption that we are just a raciest nation fight the statements that our Constitution is flawed and we are not an exceptional nation. Fight the bureaucracy that tells you your children must read this or that trivial socialist dribble. The fight starts at dinner when we openly discuss the issues with our children, at the park when we counter those that question whether our children should hang upside down on monkey bars and at school when there is a muslim prayer day in which everyone must participate. this idea that we must all just get along is the absurdity of sheep. Fight.

AND:Over the years, info on what to eat and what not to eat, has been constantly changing.  So, I’ve decided I am going to eat as wisely as I can discern to do……and then one day I’ll lay down to rest from all this earthly confusion!!

AND: The history was correct but the whole point is not…it is a miss direction…mixed in with truth.

It is true that if you are intimidated, you will be less likely to do anything.

AND:Chag Sameach Pesach!

Note:  “Easter” is derived from the name of the false god Ashteroth and many of the man traditions associated with Easter are derived from the worship of that false god.   All I can say is RUN AWAY FROM HER!

But the landscape of the world is to feed the military industrial complex…peace is not the goal….

AND: We all could meet ‘angels’ if we took the time?

AND: I would be praying a lot for the wisdom and knowledge to pull it off. I have hired some people who didn’t have the skill I was looking but had the right attitude . What I had to do was have enough patience, time and energy to follow them through the process .

AND: Whatever happened to taking responsibility for the choices we make…..that give us the results of our very own actions?

It’s the new way of thinking…..it’s everyone’s fault except mine.  Away with the unfair “blame game”.  And…that’s why if the thinking doesn’t change……the world’s going to hell “in a hand basket”!!  And……the truth shall set you free!!

PS.  Obama (the puppet) is leading the U.S. Straight towards destruction and you and I can’t do anything about it.  Wake up!  Prepare yourself and those you love as best you can.

AND: I actually brought this Thomas Sowell article (dated 21Mar15) to work yesterday to let folks read.
Thanks for being vigilant and spreading the word-many will read and hear but sadly many will turn a blind eye.

AND: Climate change  equals  Liberals. If u don’t believe me ask.the  dinosaurs!

AND:   I remember growing up in Wisconsin in the early 70’s and there was serious talk about no one living there in the next 20 years due to the southern movement of another Glacier. Made an impression as I still remember it today. When confronted with a climate change nut, I tell that story and they say that I made that up and that can’t be true. How convenient.

AND: We are living in the end times Biblically speaking.  All prophesy needed to be fulfilled for Jesus to return is fulfilled. Have you read the Screw Tape Letters by C S Lewis? A fictional story about the devil and demons plotting and planning.  God postpones intervention on the earth to give every soul that does not know Him time to believe.  Time for His Body,  the church,  to take the gospel message further and faster.    Is a all this to tell you a one world government is inevitable.  The antichrist may be alive but not revealed.  Biblical prophesy is scary stuff unless you are believing that Jehovah is in control.  Jesus will be victorious (after much suffering for earthly populations on the earth) the Holy Spirit is working on the hearts of people all over the world,  bring the salvation news.

AND: The “good” way in our foundational Hebraic understanding is the Mitzvot.   The contentment comes from understanding that you are in right relationship with our Creator.  You see your actions in line with His desires and character.  Nothing changed with Him from Malachi to Matthew.  There is no such thing as dispensations with G-d.  Have a great day!

AND: Love it….I know I don’t have enough Faith to be an Atheist.  I have a couple of friends who think they do tho…always fun to share a conversation with them.

AND: Ignorance, running rampant!  You can’t reason with it or speak to anything via discussion because…………”Ignorant” already knows EVERYTHING!  It will wear you slam out.  Then you rest.  Then you try again!

Love you guys! Diverse & opinionated! As Pops, a wonderful man I coached with, said to me, “Rem, life is like a football game, you only have so many innings to play and if you don’t get the ball in the basket, you’ve got to turn in your ice skates.”
