Question & Thought for Christmas Eve 2015!

Good Christmas Eve Morning!
1. Question – So how does a person get right with God?
2. Thought – I’ve known young people who were so solid in their faith that they were decades ahead of the adults around them in terms of their spiritual wisdom, maturity, and power of judgment. If they weren’t living their destiny already, it was obvious they were marching to it at breakneck pace. And then I’ve known men in their 60’s – worldly men, well-educated men – who were completely lost. They didn’t know where they were going, what their purpose was, or why their life mattered at all. I’m not just talking about men who were going through a routine midlife crisis. I’m talking about men who were fundamentally immature when it came to spiritual matters, lost souls with no conception of the fact that they had an incredible destiny they were called to fulfill.
So how does a person get right with God? By doing all the things we’ve talked about in this book: by trusting in the Lord and having faith in him. By trying to be obedient to his commands. By repenting when you fall. By having a spirit of thankfulness for all the blessings you’ve received – especially the gift of life. By being prayerful instead of prideful, humble instead of arrogant. By dedicating your life to others, just as God took on a human form so he could serve us. In short, by being in union with God. (Ten Prayers God Always Says Yes To by Anthony DeStefano)
The Lord replied, “Look around at the nations; look and be amazed! For I am doing something in your own day, something you wouldn’t believe even if someone told you about it.” (Habakkuk 1:5)

Question & Thought for September 21st, 2015!!!

Good Monday Morning!!!
1. Question – What good can come out of suffering?
2. Thought – Perhaps the greatest good that can come of suffering is that it has the potential to make a person more Christ-like. Jesus went through every kind of human possible pain imaginable, and he did so because he knew that we would be going through plenty of pain as well. When you’re hungry or hurt or poor, when you’re in chronic physical pain or confronted with infidelity and disloyalty, when you’re imprisoned or lonely or separated from your family for long periods of time, when you’re persecuted because of your faith – when you go through any of these agonies, you’re experiencing the very same things that God himself did. Therefore, it’s possible to be even closer to him and more like him. This closeness and intimacy with the Lord can actually bring you a kind of joy and peace you cannot find anywhere else in the whole world, because it flows directly from being in union with God.
