Question & Thought for 2 September 2015!!!

Good Wednesday Morning!
1. Question – Are we ‘OUT TO LUNCH’ lunch on diversity training?
2. Thought – You know what they’re teaching kids in school these days? They’re teaching kids to be more “tolerant” of the Big Bad Wolf.
Oops. Scratch that. Can’t say bad. That’s too judgmental. Let’s just call him the Big Culturally Deprived Wolf. After all, he’s misunderstood. He’s confused. He doesn’t know any better. That’s why he wants to eat those nice little pigs. We need to understand him and be nice to him. If we show him, we like him, he’ll learn to like himself more, and he won’t be so mean to the Three Little Pigs.
That’s what kids are learning in school today. It’s called “diversity training.” In these exercises, children are encouraged to role-play or rewrite a classic fairy tale – but with a twist: The students are to put themselves in the role of the wolf in “The Three Little Pigs.” They are told to identify with the villain of the story and to try to understand the circumstances that made him so nasty. Maybe the wolf didn’t really mean to blow down the pigs’ houses – maybe he just had a cold and sneezed too hard. Maybe he ate little pigs because he was from a poor neighborhood and couldn’t afford to eat at McDonald’s. The message kids take away is that wolves are victims of circumstance; they may be misguided, but they are not bad; they are not responsible for their actions, and even wolves have rights.
This exercise gives kids a basis for “understanding” the behavior of graffiti taggers, gangsters, muggers, terrorists, thieves, drug dealers, and other people who do unpleasant things. The classis fairy tales, with their good-verses-evil moral absolutes, have been stood on their heads. Through these exercises, kids learn that there are no moral absolutes, no good guys and bad guys, no right or wrong, no personal responsibility or accountability. There are only some poor misguided predators in need of tolerance, inclusion, understanding, and a government program or two.

Question & Thought & ANDs.

Question & Thought and AND for August 6th, 2015!!!

Good Thursday Morning!!! Sensationalism? Super Bowl Debate!
1. Question – What words during tonight’s presidential debate will sway you?
2. Thought – Watch your words diligently. Words have such great power to bless or to wound. When you speak carelessly or negatively, you damage others as well as yourself. This ability to verbalize is an awesome privilege, granted only to those I created in My image. You need help in wielding this mighty power responsibly.
Though the world applauds quick-witted retorts, My instructions about communication are quite different: Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry. Ask My Spirit to help you whenever you speak. I have trained you to pray – “Help me Holy Spirit” – before answering the phone, and you have seen the benefits of this discipline. Simply apply the same discipline to communicating with people around you. If they are silent, pray before speaking to them. If they are talking, pray before responding. These are split-second prayers, but they put you in touch with My Presence. In this way, your speaking comes under control of My Spirit. As positive speech patterns replace your negative ones, the increase in your Joy will amaze you.
Proverbs 12:18, James 1:19; Ephesians 4:29
(Jesus Calling by Sarah Young for August 3rd)
“I think that I’d like to resign from the Army so that I could go home and say what I have to say.” (General George Patton)
AND from me: The big debate? Some of my thinking friends won’t even watch and why? They simply will listen to the juicy sound bites on Friday.  They see the direction the country is headed and have already made up their mind on the next president.
I ask you, ‘What is the motive for news?’
$
As I have learned, news is simply talking heads from shows on Fox, CBS, MSN, NBC, ABC and our local and national newspapers. And they do a great job!
I have already made my decision for election 2016. President Obama ran on hope and change with Joe Biden. We got change for sure. The question is: Will you vote for this change we are on to lead America & the world towards 2020?
And, from a congressional point of view: Please own your country and know what your guys and girls are doing or not doing for you. Based on what I have learned on Fast Track, Planned Parenthood, Healthcare, Iran, Immigration, Budget, Education, Military, Gov shutdown and much more from many sources I am disenchanted with the leaders I have pulled the lever for. I am not opposed to voting in a whole new bunch of senators and congressionals with an amendment to change the Constitution and implement term limits for them and the court as well.
Keep learning all!

Question & Thought & ANDs.

Question & Thought and ANDs for August 5th, 2015!!!

Good Wednesday Morning!
1. Question – Do you believe one must govern a state before becoming a president? Or, do you believe one must run a successful business before one becomes president? Do you believe one has to be a senator or congressman before one becomes president? Does one have to be a leader to write a book on leadership? Does one have to be a pilot to write a book on flying?
2. Thought – Of all my life experiences, I think the writing of Stand Your Ground has been, by far, the most humbling. The reasons are far and many, but, one particular stands out in the forefront of my intellect. And it may be a common concern to many. The concern is best relayed through a series of questions. Think for a moment, as I did, upon the following – “Must one have been a professional player to become a professional coach?” or “Must one have had a prior entrepreneurial experience to teach classes on entrepreneurship?” Or, more broadly, what level of involvement does one have to possess before they can become a subject matter expert?
This question was particularly troubling for me. You see, in the writing of this book, I was slowly becoming a subject matter expert in the field of honorable leadership while simultaneously coming to grips with my own limitations as a leader. (Stand Your Ground by Evan H. Offstein)
“Over the course of time many Americans have forgotten that ‘we the people’ are actually at the top of the food chain as far as authority is concerned in this nation. The Republicans don’t run our nation. The Democrats don’t run our nation. We do. However, by dividing and engaging in political squabbles, we have allowed the government to grow so large and powerful that it has become the boss, progressively taking charge of all our lives.” (Ben Carson, MD)

AND:I’ve actually had a similar discussion with two different pastors.  In some ways, I yield to their expertise of general theology.  I consider myself at a disadvantage because I have never read our Bible completely, nor have I even opened up the Quran.  That being said, I have read excerpts of both.  I was disappointed at how both pastors supported Islam and the Quran and in so doing, discounted the Holy Bible and ‘some’ of its scripture.  In essence, justifying Islam’s bad behavior with comparison to Christianity’s bad behavior.  Flawed logic IMO.

The difference today: Radical Islam proclaims the just killing of infidels in the name of Allah.  Radical Christianity seeks to end the killing of innocent life in the mother’s womb. (America’s legalized abortion just may be history’s largest genocide.)  Arriving at these two very different perspectives on life illustrates the profound foundational differences between Islam and Christianity.

Great Jefferson quote….

AND:”…better that one person die than that a righteous nation should perish.”  (Book of Mormon, 1st Nephi)

And although “Thou shalt not kill” is still a commandment of our Judaea Christian God and high on the hierarchy of commandments, self-preservation is as well.

I can’t defend the Qur’an.  Haven’t read it.  But I believe in the Christian quote that “By their fruits ye shall know them”.  Judging by that standard and since the whole world is buying into secularism, socialism and accepting immoral conduct as the norm, we’re all in trouble.  Torturing, beheadings and bombings seems worse but not that much.

AND:Mark, I have experienced this throughout my life… Youth through adulthood.  The desire to fit into a group often overtakes the internal virtues against acting out certain mannerisms of the group.  In my adult years and more lately than ever, I’m finding myself standing my ground for morality and virtues.  It isn’t easy.  It isn’t like I was ever popular…but standing my ground makes me even less popular.  The sad part is the number of people who secretly support my stand, but continue to either act as the whole group or shy away to not draw any attention. The result of such behavior is I stand alone.  The perception is I am the only person going against the grain…I must be wrong.  I know I am not wrong, but when surrounded by cowards, the majority rules…I am wrong by default.  Do that enough times, and one gets permanently labeled.  Humans prefer the life of lemmings to that of the lion…all must run with the group…even if the group runs off the cliff.  Our current society is running towards the cliff with many already being pushed off by the very momentum of idiots who still are too nearsighted to see the danger looming ahead. Would be a great relief if the cowards will finally rise up in courage and support the ones who make the stand to stop the insanity.  The cowards will finally see they are truly not as small a number as they assumed.

AND:Ethics such a simple task made difficult by circumstances. Ethics, do the right thing every time.  Of late it is asked but what is the right thing, nothing is really right or wrong. How unhappy one must be not knowing right from wrong good from evil.  How much internal struggle must occur to ignore good and embrace evil, to know the truth but to not utter it due to what someone might say or to incur the wrath of the option of others. Is it not liberating to cast off the view of others and set a course of true ethical behavior. Today there are few that have a moral code at all, the circumstances and all.  The planned parenthood evil is largely ignored the white house even stated that the film was inaccurate.  What evil must lurk in the heart to make such a statement. What hell can that evil bring. Well folks if we do not stop it we will certainly witness it.

AND:It was HaShem’s second commandment…and a dietary one at that.  Isn’t it interesting that Christian teachers find dietary commandments so strange…but the second commandment of all time was a Dietary commandment?

Shavua Tov!

AND:I like all of those too. I think Trump loves this country & truly does want to make it great again. But, I’m not sure I trust him NOT to okay policies, real estate acquisitions, bills & anything else that would benefit his own interests AFTER he’s done being President. He will always be a business man, I think, looking out for #1-

himself. The fact that he’s using his own money to campaign is very appealing. But, Trump is not a Christian. I’m not sure how that will play out for Christians. I do LOVE how he’s not taking any crap from the mainstream media.

Cruz is a Christian. He seems to be Conservative. I need to learn more about him. G’night Mark

Debate tomorrow night. I wonder????

Question & Thought & ANDs.

ANDs for 29 July 2015!!!

Good Wednesday Morning from you all!! Below are your recent comments! I cannot list them all………so please be patient…Ands……

AND: THOUGHT FOR THE DAY!

“There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.” — Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged, Ch. III

AND: Noticed you quoted Norm and Frank.

For what it is worth Frank Turek is giving a talk at Forest Hill church this weekend.

His class is for young kids headed to college.  Arming them with a defense against a hostile atheistic world view.

http://www.foresthill.org/the-case-for-christianity.html

I was in a small men’s bible study with Frank and a few other guys for several years.   You would have enjoyed many of the conversations.

AND: This is such a good question. One of my most favorite moments in my life was when my grandmother past away. My brother was asked to deliver the eulogy and he wanted it to reflect the entire  family. He gathered all 13 grand children and asked us to share a story  about gram. As we each shared, we laughed, cried and celebrated all the ways she touched, taught, mentored, scolded and spiritually affected our lives, each in a different way. What a legacy to leave with this world.

AND: And one last thought, we cease to impact other people with our death…we aren’t Jesus after all.  When we are dead, we are simply dead to this world.  For once we are dead, we won’t care how our funeral goes, how we are buried, who attends, or what was said. The greatest impact is being alive to share and teach about the little things that impact the big things every day.  I would rather focus on the living.

AND: Good Question!!!

AND: IMO, this article is a little harsh…but then perhaps I don’t know what a “dying country” is.  The country is moving towards Socialism…and will look like many European countries in many ways.  Yes, we are moving away from morality and spirituality…certainly when you look at today vs sixty years ago. Yes, we have a ‘controlled’ educational system that favors the Left….as does our current media situation.  These are huge obstacles to over come.

As you have said in the past, the US is on the wrong trajectory.  I like that analysis better than saying a dying country. 0 said he’d change America, and he certainly has enabled that change.  Can we reverse course? I believe we can.
AND: Satan is now believed and God forgotten. We are in the presence of hell and we do not even know it.  The destruction by fire may well have been set 2 days ago. Israel is now alone and the Grace of God will be accepted by fewer and fewer.  Times continue to be interesting and I pray God will give me the strength to do his will and not fall into the relativism of the masses.
AND: I have given your second question considerable thought:

Q: ‘Why should I let you into my heaven?’
A:  As for me, there isn’t a single reason…no compelling reason at all.  There isn’t even a start to the conversation.
If I enter, it will by God’s grace and nothing else.  I do not confuse my desire with God’s reasoning.  Grace alone bubba.
