Question & Thought and a Ponder for the last day of January 2015!!!
Good Friday Morning from all of you! Here are some of your weekly responses! Keep reading.
AND: Excellent post. (“Defeating Darwinism” is an excellent book – Darwin is also misunderstood and misrepresented). I frequently see posts “should we have the national anthem at sporting events”….I usually respond with “No. It would be better for us to recite the Constitution so that all people will know the foundation that the anthem represents.” It is the idea for which we can all agree. An amazing work that actually encompassed all of the language (between the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution) necessary to identify who we are as one – many of the amendments were not even necessary had it not been to correct those who were working towards living outside of them. I think the piece of the puzzle that requires “evolvement” is the people back to the foundation. J
Have a great day!
And I will try to “Be Good/Do Good”,
AND: Our founding fathers: their experiences of Great Britain, a monarchy, intrusion, an unheard opinion, heavy taxation, religious prosecution, lack of choice. These experiences coupled with wisdom and intellect led to a new representative form of government. Envisioned, drafted and approved by a convention and majority vote. Simple. Effective. Timeless.
AND: Hi Mark. That platypus thing has had me researching. I have googled it several times trying to figure out the meaning ?
Say hello to Kathy for me please.
AND: In Dr. Ben Carson’s book, he said that his mother while cleaning houses for the rich people in their town noticed that there were books that the people and their children were reading everwhere. When she came back to their community she never saw anyone reading. She said this must be the difference and made Ben and his brother read books and give her a book report.
AND:
I been going to ask, but every time I see it I ask myself “what’s with the Platypus”. I guess your going to tell us. How’s retirement going?
AND: Really liked this post … I’m trying to be patient with non Christians and explain that you can love and disagree with someone’s behavior at the same time. Pat Buchanan’s article today on the Lew Rockwell site is enlightening … we fight against terrorism but what do we fight for and with? Hope you are enjoying retirement as much as I … haven’t been bored yet but may be taking a few too many naps…lol
AND: Spot on. We are too quick to view issues thru the prism of political party and too slow to view thru the Good for America prism. If you don’t hold an opinion or simply care to learn the facts, then you are most likely in the looking-for-a-handout (or, what’s in it for me?) crowd.
Both parties have concerns and ideas…some good, many not so good. In the past, we had had representation that wanted to move America forward, first and foremost. Today, our representation is about moving the party forward, and thus the party’s platform. We function better when we put America first.
AND: I don’t like that platypus thing.
AND: I happen to be a literal type of thinker Mark. If a sentence in a book says the little red wagon rolled down the steep hill, unobstructed, I’m going to picture a little red wagon rolling down a hill, on its own, very quickly. ___ says I shouldn’t be so technical. ____ is not the reader that I have been my entire life. He says that sentence can mean many things. I disagree. It means what it says- like our constitution does. If it meant to say something else, they would’ve used different words. Hmmmm.
What do you say??
AND: Of late the Constitution and the Bible have been reduced to “I will follow as I see fit”. It does not matter the intent of Madison or God, what matters is making it suit the narcissist, the socialist, the power hungry and the foolish. That said what are we to do, if the answer is nothing then we shall suffer the fate of Rome et al. If we do the right thing and rebel against tyranny we will face a cold winter but will be guaranteed a spring. To do nothing will result in the bleakness of mediocrity and shame of cowardliness.
AND: It is difficult to live within boundaries, be it fiscally or Constitutionally. It is quite easy to change the rules to fit current mores or trends. What we forget is that trends change and as we glibly go about changing the rules yet again we loose all understanding of where the boundaries once were. There are few lines that are not crossed today, we wonder why there is no respect for our elders, our teaches even parents. Well do we teach our children to say yes sir or no sir. Yes I understand that it is just to hard to drive that kind of discipline into a child, after all you are late for your pedicure. We are surprised that a young daughter is pregnant or that a 16 year old son is now a father. Why do we allow children of what ever age to watch the shows that blatantly promote free sex anytime. When is the last time one of us pointed out that there should be shame in whorish behavior. Food stamps at one time were a short term helping hand to those that were on hard times. Now they get a credit card to use. Does anyone else see the myriad of issues here. It is damn hard to be honorable to have integrity and support moral behavior. Well we better get to doing that which is difficult, for if we don’t it is not just those that don’t really give a damn that will suffer, the entire Republic is in peril. Yes it is hard to state that behavior is wrong, you will be called a bigot, one who has no compassion, a hater (what ever that means) and worse. The cost of not doing the right thing is dire & we need to let the name calling begin.
AND: That platypus seems to be a creature made up ………………………………………………………………………………………….
A hint on Platypus tomorrow. Don’t text and drive. Have fun with the Super. Talk & listen more than you text. Read!
