Question & Thought for the last Sunday/day in November 2014!!!

Good Sunday Morning!
1. Question – Have you given deep discerning thought into the “Fear of God,” and what that really means?
2. Thought – If we do not look into and analyze the question of what constitutes true fear of God and what its ramifications are, how will we acquire it and how will we escape worldly vanity which renders our hearts forgetful of it?
Will it not be forgotten and get lost even though we recognize its necessity? Love of God, too-if we do not make an effort to implant it in our hearts, utilizing all the means which direct us toward it, how will it exist in us?
If we analyzed the matter honestly, would we not extract the truth and thereby benefit ourselves, and also be of benefit to others by instructing them in it? As stated by Solomon (Proverbs 2:4), “If you seek it as silver and search for it as treasure, then you will understand the fear of God.” He does not say, “Then you will understand philosophy; then you will understand astronomy; then you will understand medicine; then you will understand legal judgments and decisions.” We see, then, that for fear of God to be understood, it must be sought as silver and searched for as treasure. All this is part of our heritage and is accepted in substance by every devout individual.
Again, is it conceivable that we should find time for all other branches of study and none for this study? Why should a man not at least set aside for himself certain times for this speculation if he is obliged in the remainder of his time to other studies or understandings? (Messilat Yesharim Perek 1)

Question & Thought & ANDs…

Question & Thought for the last Saturday in November 2014!!!

Good Saturday Morning!
1. Question – Do you desire to feel like a teenager again? Not in your mind – but in your energy!
2. Thought – My lupus story began in 1992, when I was 32 years old. I had experienced severe joint pains, fatigue, and a red facial rash. The blood tests came back specific for lupus. At first I thought this was good news – a diagnosis, now we can do something about it. Well, I was then told there is no cure and I would have to live with it and take medication for the rest of my life. I was even told by the rheumatologist that I might die from it. Even with the medications, I had a constant low-grade fever, low energy, a bright red face, stiffness, and joint pain.
I could not accept this death sentence and a life dependent on toxic drugs. I researched everything I could find about this disease and tried changing to a vegetarian diet and alternative medicine with some degree of success. I lived in Virginia and took a train trip up to New Jersey to visit Dr. Fuhrman. I was convinced to take the next step to regain my health and decided to adopt a healthier, “whole foods diet” and do some fasting. Soon I felt like a teenager again; my face was cool and white for the first time in years, my joints felt great, and I had lots of energy. I lost a little weight and looked great.

I went back to visit my rheumatologist, who was on staff at a teaching hospital. I just knew he was going to be interested in my story and recovery from lupus. When I started to tell him of my experience and my newfound good health, he wrote “spontaneous recovery” in the chart. I was shocked. He was not the least bit interested in hearing the details of my recovery, and practically walked out of the room when I started to explain what happened.

Now, nine years later, I remain free from lupus. Lupus is no longer a part of my life. I play tennis and compete on a local team. No one who knows me today would ever guess that I used to be in so much pain that I couldn’t even shake someone’s hand.

No matter what your health is today, you can improve it. When we make the right choices, we can live better and be healthier. Do not be complacent with taking medications the rest of your life. You can recover. Your body has an amazing healing potential waiting to be unleashed by the gift of superior nutrition. (Super Immunity by Joel Fuhrman, M.D.)

Thanks Doc! Fantastic book!

Question & Thought & ANDs…

Questions & Thought for 28 November 2014!!!

Good Friday Morning!
1. Question – What’s real any more? Where is the truth in everything from education – to politics – to medicine – to the American Dream – to our own eternity?
2. Thought – As you meander your way through the following couple of hundred pages, I ask you to think about truth – the very importance of its existence – and what separates it from the “fiction” that life throws at us daily, especially involving cancer. Consider the following quotations as you dwell on life’s truths and, particularly, what you know – and will herein discover – is the “real” truth about cancer, its prevention and healing:
“You can bend it and twist it. You can misuse it and abuse it. But even God cannot change the Truth.” Michael Lew
“You never find yourself until you face the truth.” Pearl Bailey
“The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end – there it is.” Winston Churchill
“What you perceive, your observations, feelings, interpretations, are all your truth. Your truth is important. Yet it is not The Truth.” Linda Ellinor
“Unthinking respect for authority is the  greatest enemy of truth.” Albert Einstein
“Never assume the obvious is true.” William Safire
“The first reaction to truth is hatred.” Terrulian Quotes
“Truth is like the sun. You can shut it out for a time, but it ain’t goin’ away.” Elvis Presley
“A lie gets half way around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.” Winston Churchill
“If you look for truth, you may find comfort in the end. If you look for comfort, you will not get either comfort or truth – only soft soap and wishful thinking to begin, and in the end, despair.” C.S. Lewis
“The truth, of course, is that a billion falsehoods told a billion times by a billion people – are still false.” Travis Walton
“It is error alone which needs the support of government. Truth can stand by itself.” Thomas Jefferson
“We do nor err because truth is difficult to see. It is visible at a glance. We err because this is more comfortable.” Alexander Solzheitsyn

Question & Thought & ANDs…

Question – Thought & Advice for Thanksgiving Day 2014!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!
1. Without a Question – Without question we/i thank you for your prayers, love, kindness and support.
2. Thought –
A friend should be radical.
He should love you when you’re unlovable,
Hug you when you’re unhuggable,
And bear with you when you’re unbearable.
A friend should be fanatical.
He should cheer you up when the whole world boos,
Dance when you get good news,
And cry when you cry, too.

But most of all, a friend should be mathematical.
He should multiply the joy, divide the sorrow,
Subtract the past, and add to tomorrow,
Calculate the need deep in your heart,
And always be bigger than the sum of all their parts. (Walking Wisely by Charles Stanley)
3. Advice – Eat well and be Thankful! And after today, for those of you like me, pondering a weight loss plan before Christmas, heed the advice on one of my favorite presidents. President Ronald Reagan said, “Simple diet – – if it tastes good spit it out.”

Love!
