Then he came to the second and said likewise. And he answered and said, ‘I go, sir,’ but he did not go. Which of the two did the will of his father?”

Question & Thought & ANDs…

Question & Thought for August 30th, 2014!

Good Saturday Morning and Labor Day Weekend!
1. Question – But what exactly is “small stuff?”
2. Thought – But what exactly is “small stuff?” Well, here’s an example. A very successful black female broadcaster has been a friend of mine for some time now. Recently, she was shopping in an upscale store, looking for luggage. She noticed a salesclerk watching her very closely. Of course, she was annoyed. Then the clerk came over and my friend asked to see a certain piece. She replied, “Oh, you know that’s very expensive.”
Offensive? Sure. Racist? Possibly. Important? No. My friend just looked at the woman, rolled her eyes, and left the store. But the incident did upset her. I told her that was understandable but not worth her time. Dumb people are dumb people. You have a choice: Ignore them or confront them. In this case a cold stare was all the emotional wattage that person warranted. (Who’s Looking Out For You? by Bill O’Reilly)

Question & Thought & ANDs…

Question & Thought for August 29th, 2014!

Good Friday Morning & Welcome Labor Day Weekend!!!
1. Question – Are the powers that be in America looking out for you?
2. Thought – No question about it, the U.S.A. is a great place to live if you are willing to get an education, work hard, and persist in the pursuit of happiness. There is, however, one important and somewhat disturbing question: Are the powers that be in America looking out for you?
The answer is very clear: no, not really.
Surprised? You shouldn’t be. America was built on self-reliance and ruthless demands on the individual. Among the Founding Fathers and subsequent presidents and leaders were few who would attend a pity party. James Garfield, our twentieth president, was once asked on the campaign trail about poverty in America. Said Jim: “Poverty is uncomfortable, I can testify, but nine times out of ten the best thing that can happen to a young man is to be tossed overboard and compelled to sink or swim himself.”
Sink?
And our twenty-sixth president, Teddy Roosevelt, was even blunter: “Pray not for lighter burdens, but for stronger backs.”
Strength?
Until the mid-1930s, America was a nation that basically said to its citizens: “Your forefathers have given you freedom, so good luck, see you around, hope you make it.” Then came the Great Depression, World War II, the Great Society, the Age of Aquarius, the Me Generation, and finally the anything-goes Clinton years. Throughout those generations everything changed. While John Kennedy once asked what you would do for your country, modern politicians were suddenly lining up to tell you what they were going to give you, and one of the biggest entitlement pushers around was JFK’s brother, Senator Edward Kennedy. Most give away programs have been complete failures, but the rhetorical battle continues to this day. (Who’s Looking Out For You? by Bill O’Reilly/Copyright 2003)
Spend some time reading for pleasure and growth. Drink water! Stay away from acidic drinks and foods. Don’t text and drive and look out for our children. EnJOY!

Question & Thought & ANDs…

Question & Thought for August 28th, 2014!!!

Good Thursday Morning Women & men!
1. Question – Where does America get its strength and character from?
2. Thought – Interestingly, de Tocqueville attributed the strength and character of America to its women. While European women were fainting in the parlor with the vapors, in the New World women joined their husbands in conquering the American frontier. The strength and independence of American women are legendary. Most important, de Tocqueville said, women were the keepers of the religious faith. “No free communities ever existed without morals,” he said, “and morals are the work of women.” Not anymore. A large segment of American women have traded faith in the Supreme Being for faith in gun control laws and day care centers. We live in an America in which soccer moms swoon over Bill Clinton, and Larry Flynt is a cultural icon. Feminists get enthusiastic about the war on terrorism only when they think we are fighting to redeem Western licentiousness. Our men are up to the job of protecting us from foreign enemies, but our women are losing the war at home.
It is not an accident that the relentless attacks on morality spring from America’s women. “The aim of the party,” George Orwell wrote in 1984, “was not merely to prevent men and women from forming loyalties which it might not be able to control. Its real, undeclared purpose was to remove all pleasures from the sex act… The Party was trying to kill the sex instinct, or, if it could not be killed, then to distort it and dirty it.” The Party triumphed because “so far as women were concerned, the Party’s efforts were largely successful.”

Obligations to family, children, and God mean nothing. Aborting children is a “constitutional right.” Sex is just another activity, distinct from other activities only in that “everybody” lies about it. A marriage contract is superfluous and may be broken with impunity. Disloyalty is a matter of principle. “Trophy wives” are cheerfully written up in the New York Times, where four marriages are de rigueur. Unmarried biological fathers are given legal rights to their offspring, and unmarried mothers are given legal rights to the biological father’s paycheck.
Marriage can’t be trusted, parents can’t be trusted, honor can’t be trusted. The only institution that can be trusted is the government. The only promise that must be kept is Social Security. Why not: “Oh, c’mon, everybody lies about Social Security”? No sir. Social Security is sacrosanct. Only the government’s word is inviolable. (Treason – Copyright 2003 by Ann Coulter)
