AND: Am I dreaming of a time when athletes put their helmets under their left arm by their side and put their right hand over their hearts during the Anthem? Am I dreaming of a time when there was a moment of silence to honor? Am I dreaming of a time when the players all stood in a line? Am I dreaming of a time when the suit you played in was honorable to your school or city and you never let your helmet on the ground or if you threw it down you were on the bench for the remainder of the game?

AND: Look, I know many are huge football fans.  This places the fans in a tough position.  But for the ones that truly want to show the NFL how they feel about the lack of professional display during the playing of our nation’s anthem, do it with what works…money.  Watch the game on the free channels.  Don’t buy the NFL ticket to the actual games and don’t buy the NFL package on cable or satellite.  Don’t buy the advertised products we see supporting the sponsorship of these guys.  Honestly, money talks…look what happened to Target for being so brazen against women…

AND: I would rather work for an honest employer, one who would not tempt me or threaten to harm me if I refused to compromise my values.  I would much prefer working for Trump.

Making the decision to work for Hillary Clinton would, by that decision, compromise my values since I believe she is always up to no good.  I believe she is a liar, thief and master of deception who has sold her soul to the devil.  And I believe that if elected president she will lead our nation to destruction.

AND: A part of Life…some opt to ignore, some opt to embrace.  But I think for far too many, they opt to delegate their education to the path of least resistance. In doing so, they never realize what could have been.  Yes, politics is merely a part of Life but its results build the culture you exist in daily. It touches every moment of you life.

If the majority of Americans were well informed, savvy voters, how would elections and debates look differently?  In this case, we get what we ask for.

AND: Per your earlier text Mark, this is one reason Trump is persecuted. The press is on him like a pack of dogs. They are in Hillary’s pocket.

The left has turned their campaign into a rich against poor / us verses them / only “I” can save you battle. It is a false narrative however it is eagerly taken up by the ill educated minions of the left.

I weep for our republic.

AND: What would Lombardi do? I thought I saw those brave men die. One can say Vietnam was just a capitalist war. I disagree it was a war of liberation. It was the war that turned the military to a more defensive posture, unfortunately. That said if they want to sit it is the right of the ignorant to do so. For the most part the so called oppressed are oppressed due to their decisions and actions. I am writing advertisers and taking exception to advertising with the nfl. Actions have consequences so whine if they will I plan to take my business else where.

AND:  Really Sean Payton, you have MORE IMPORTANT things your working on than respect for our country and the people who died for our freedoms….He can go to hell!

AND: We stand in our house when the Anthem is played and we have been disappointed the last 3 seasons because the media has skipped the playing of the National Anthem at all games except the big ones. Now they are showing it again.

AND: Never thought of it that way, coach used to try to build character in players. I think a lot of that floated away when we started paying players millions of dollars per game, they then took the power.

AND: I am definitely not a TV person.  Some of my best memories growing up are being outside with my dad listening to the White Sox on the radio while we cleaned vegetables from the garden.  TV leaves nothing to the imagination and can be so destructive.

AND: Here’s what I think is the shameful act. Kaepie starts this “social wrong” thing.  Next we have players who are taking actions to show support for Kaepie, not the social wrong that Kaepie speaks of.

What do you think is happening via texts?  My bet is collusion amongst players to “show support.”  This collusion is much like how the ghetto gangs operate.  The gangs ‘hold you back’, they do not free an individual.  This then snowballs into peer pressure and the discussion moves from the “social wrong” to what an individual’s rights are.

 

Well, the team organization that signed these million dollar knuckleheads also has rights.  My bet is every single NFL contract has a defamation clause where if you do anything that discredits the organization, you can be terminated.  These million dollar jocks represent their team at all times whether they want to or not.  You just need an owner to toss one under the bus.

 

I haven’t followed this closely, but have the subs been acting out?  No, why?  They are expendable and the owners will take action against non starters.  Its the starters who are pushing the envelop. So does that mean the “social wrong” only gains traction with starters/stars?

 

So why should a fan walk away?  I will not be insulted by an athlete who simply acts emotionally and not based upon facts. I watch football as an escape from this real world.  I like to recall the many ideals that were around when I played the game.  I do not like bringing today’s politics into the stadium…in my eyes, its simply wrong.

 

If Goodell does not fix this situation, I predict he will start televising games after the anthem has concluded.  He will not give the players a national TV stage for their actions.  Its a chicken crap solution, but it will take the action away from tv viewing fans.

 

People are confused about freedoms and rights.  Players have a right to an opinion and to voice such.  They do not have the right to voice their opinion at the expense of an organization’s image.  Perhaps this is an HR issue of sorts….but IMO, the players are ignorant, manipulative fools.

 

Kaepie won’t be signed next year.
